State Convention

The GA Republican State Convention went very well this weekend.  RNC Chairman Michael Steele, J.C. Watts, and Herman Cain were all great speakers! We need to keep it up.

It looks as if to me the democrats have put their ideology into practice ... while we have just sit back and talked about what a terrible job Obama doing and how much he is destroying our nation. While our talk is true … just exactly what are we doing about it? How are we getting our message across to the masses?

Ron Wilson
The fact is we aren’t and I don’t see any great effort to do so either. Occasionally, I might here an advertisement with a quick sound bite telling folks how badly Obama’s doing. And some of the local talk radio folks are fairly good at getting the message out … but only to their audience … most of which are conservative anyway.

What I don’t seem to see is any effort to tell the masses what we would do to correct the problem. We haven’t done much to engage the masses in a discussion about what should be done. We are content to sit back and take pot-shot at Obama … but at least he is doing some … his doing the wrong thing … but folks are very interested in here someone cut some down for doing something, while not give a better alternative.

Why should folk support us, if we don’t clearly explain to them what we stand for and how we plan to accomplish our goal and how our way will help them have a better life?

Some suggestions:

1. Use 15 to 30 sec advertisement on TV and radio to explain our position on the 10 most important issues. Each of these advertisements should run several times a day on both conservative and liberal stations.

2. Create a list of the 10 most important local and national issues. Post them on your website with detailed explanations on why supporting the GOP will improve the individual’s life no matter what his economic class might be. Advertise the list and website in both conservative and liberal media.

3. Solicit comments and input from the public to create and maintain the 10 most important issues list. While the local officers should actually control the list the general public (both conservative and liberal) should get the feeling over time that the local officers are considering the opinions given by the general public. In other words the general public should feel some ownership in the list. This can be done by giving feedback on the website and updating the list on a monthly or quarterly basis.

4. Pick the top 2 issues on the list and attempt (publicly attempt) to debate folks that have opposing views.
